What we collect

When you submit a campaign, we ask for an email address so we can follow up with you — to approve your submission, ask a clarifying question, or let you know when you've been featured. We also ask for your name, but that field is optional. We don't ask for anything else about you personally; the campaign details you share (name, description, link) come from your already-public fundraiser page.

If you sign up for email notifications, we collect just the email address you provide for that purpose.

We don't sell, share, rent, or otherwise pass your email address (or name, if given) to any third party for any purpose. We don't use it for marketing beyond what you signed up for. We don't add campaign submitters to any mailing list they didn't separately opt into.

Email notifications

Subscribers may receive up to three types of emails:

To unsubscribe, click the link in any email or write to hello@curateindie.com. We process opt-outs immediately and won't send again once you've unsubscribed.

How long we keep it

If you submitted a campaign: we keep your email (and name, if given) until your campaign has been featured and we've sent you a courtesy note letting you know — or until we decide not to feature it, if that happens sooner. After that, we delete it. If we're actively investigating a report related to your campaign, we may retain it a bit longer while that's ongoing.

If you subscribed to email notifications: we keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. We keep a suppressed (opted-out) record to ensure we don't accidentally re-add you if your address comes through the form again.

Reports

If someone reports a campaign, we review it manually. We don't publish who filed a report or share that information with the reported campaign.

Volunteer-supported

This project is run by a small team of volunteers, not a company. We built this policy to reflect what we do, not to sound official — if anything here ever stops being true in practice, we'll fix the practice or update this page, not the other way around.

Usage Terms

Boost Board is a small, volunteer-run tool that gives daily visibility to fundraising campaigns that haven't gotten much traction yet. Using this site — browsing the board, sharing a campaign, submitting one, or supporting the app itself — means you agree to these terms.

Boost Board is not pay-to-play

No one can pay Boost Board, or any of our volunteers, to be featured, prioritized, pinned, or moved through the tiers faster. Which campaign appears — and when — is decided entirely by our published tier system (Seed, First Five, First Ten) and a moderator's own judgment, never by payment of any kind, from anyone, for any reason.

About GoFundMe You cannot pay to officially "boost" or advertise a GoFundMe campaign through an internal platform feature — GoFundMe doesn't sell one. What you can do is actively promote your campaign using GoFundMe's own built-in sharing tools (social links, email invites, its update feature) and external marketing of your own, like sharing on other platforms or asking people directly. Boost Board's role is exactly that kind of promotion — free, organic, and never a purchased placement.

We can't promise anything

Being featured on Boost Board is not a guarantee of donations, funding, shares, or any particular outcome. We review every submission by hand, but a feature doesn't verify a campaign's claims, and it doesn't obligate anyone to give. The decision to support any campaign belongs entirely to the person reading it.

We also can't guarantee a submission will be featured at all, or on any particular timeline. Submission is a request for consideration, not an automatic listing.

Not affiliated with GoFundMe or any other platform

Boost Board is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to GoFundMe or any other fundraising platform mentioned on this site. We're just an independent app that helps campaigns get seen — GoFundMe and every other platform we link to are separate companies with their own terms, and nothing here should be read as coming from them.

Boost Board isn't built around any single platform. Most of what we've featured so far happens to be GoFundMe campaigns, but that reflects what's been submitted, not a requirement. We're glad to consider campaigns from any fundraising platform with its own hosted page — Indiegogo, Kickstarter, Ko-fi, GiveSendGo, Fundly, and others.

What we ask in return: whatever you're promoting has to be allowed under that platform's own terms of service. We won't knowingly help share something that would violate the rules of the platform it's hosted on — that's between you and that platform, and it's on you to know and follow them. If we become aware a campaign violates its own platform's terms, we'll remove it from the board.

For the same reason, we're currently holding off on featuring bare direct-payment links (a Venmo, CashApp, or similar handle with no campaign page attached) — verifying a request with no story, history, or independent page behind it isn't a solved problem yet, and we'd rather grow carefully than get that wrong.

Boost Board's own fundraiser

Boost Board, at the time of this writing, has launched its own crowdfunding campaign to cover the costs of keeping the project running. None of it goes to the campaigns featured on the board; if you want to give to someone specific, use the "Donate to today's featured campaign" link instead.

Submitting or reporting a campaign

By submitting a campaign, you confirm the information you've shared is accurate to the best of your knowledge and is either your own or shared with the organizer's permission. Every report is reviewed by a real person, not resolved automatically — we don't publish who filed a report.

Changes to this page

We're a small volunteer team and this project is still evolving. If either policy changes in any meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
