How Boost Board works

Find the Good
and Pass It On

Boost Board connects quiet crowdfunding campaigns with people willing to give them a little reach. Here's how to help — and how to put a campaign forward.

For supporters

Give a story its next reader.

You don't need a large following or money to spare. A thoughtful introduction to the right person is a useful place to start.

Read beyond the headline

Find a cause you connect with on today's board, then visit its original fundraising page. Look for a clear goal, organizer details, and recent updates.

Share with intention

Send the original campaign link to a friend or a relevant community. Explain why it caught your attention.

A personal message is better than posting everywhere — and it's genuinely measurable help, not a smaller version of it.

03 /

Give only if it feels right

If you choose to donate, do so on the original fundraising platform. Check its fees, terms, and donor protections before contributing.

Boost Board never collects your donation.

Help Us Help You

Boost Board is for campaigns still looking for their first wave of support — whether they're at zero or just stalled after a few early donors — not campaigns already riding a wave of attention.

Have these details ready

  • The original, public campaign link
  • What it's raising money for and why it matters
  • Roughly how many donors it has so far
  • Whether you're the organizer or suggesting it

How campaigns move through the board

StageWhat it means
No donors yet0 donations — this is the heart of what Boost Board does. Campaigns at zero stay on the main board until they gain momentum.
First supporters arriving1–4 donors — early traction, still very early.
Getting momentum5–9 donors — real support is building.
Active support10+ donors — sustained momentum. Campaigns at this level usually move off the main rotation, but stay visible on Boost Board.
Strong momentumCampaigns with 10+ donors AND either recent donor activity (within the last week) OR at 95%+ of goal get a "Strong momentum" badge and stay featured. These represent genuine community backing. See more here.

Occasionally a campaign is pinned as the featured spot for a set window of time — a few days, for example — rather than through the usual daily rotation. Once that window ends, it returns to normal rotation on its own; no separate step needed on our end.

A submission is a suggestion for a spotlight — there's no guaranteed placement or timeframe. If featured, keep the original campaign's story and updates accurate, since that's what people will read.

Before you get started.

The practical details about sharing, submitting, and supporting.

Is there a funding cutoff for submissions?

Our focus is campaigns at zero or with only a small part of their goal raised. A campaign that has raised a meaningful amount but seen donor activity go quiet may still be worth featuring — share its goal, current total, and context when submitting, and a moderator will take a look. Each situation is considered on its own.

Can I suggest a campaign I don't run?

Yes. Submit the original public link and say that you aren't the organizer. Don't include private contact details or personal information without permission.

Should I share the Boost Board page or the fundraiser?

Use the original fundraiser's link when asking people to read the full story or contribute — it gives them the latest updates and the platform's donation process in one place.

Where does my donation go?

You contribute on the campaign's original fundraising platform, not Boost Board. That platform manages payments under its own terms and payout policies.

Will submitting guarantee my campaign gets funded?

No. Submission doesn't guarantee a listing, and a listing doesn't guarantee donations. Boost Board helps with discovery and sharing; the decision to support belongs to each person who reads your story.

Something's wrong with a listed campaign, or it's not at zero anymore — what do I do?

Use the "Report / Update" link on that campaign's card on the board, and we will review it. We appreciate any help you can provide.

I clicked a campaign link and it didn't work — why?

Campaign organizers sometimes change their fundraiser's URL or title, which breaks links we've stored. They may also remove or close a campaign entirely. If you get a broken link, use the "Report / Update" link on the campaign card so we can fix or remove it. If you personally know the organizer, reaching out to them directly is the fastest way to find the current link.
